5150–5850 MHz 6.5–8 dBi Sea Grey Fiberglass Omni Antenna, Flange Mount, Side-Exit N-Female, KSANT-12128-A

The 5 GHz band has moved from a convenience band to a serious backhaul band, and the demand for antennas that cover the full 5.15–5.85 GHz span on a real mount has never been higher. Network planners are constantly challenged to mount a 5 GHz radiator on a roof, a pole or a housing wall where the feed has to exit sideways, and where a windy rooftop asks for a bolted flange instead of a clamp. The solution lies in a flange-mounted fiberglass omni that carries the whole band on a real mechanical mount. We are proud to introduce the 5150–5850 MHz 6.5–8 dBi Sea Grey Fiberglass Omni Antenna, model KSANT-12128-A, a 400 mm linear-polarized radiator engineered for outdoor 5 GHz Wi-Fi, WISP backhaul and high-power fixed wireless links.

This antenna represents a practical answer to a specific installation: a 400 mm radome of 20 mm diameter in sea grey, standing on a 100 mm round flange with a side-exit N-female connector and a spring relief above the flange. The whole 5.15–5.85 GHz span is covered at 50 Ohm with VSWR <2.0, peak gain runs 6.5–8 dBi, and the horizontal pattern is a full 360° with roundness held to ±1 dB. Power handling is 300 W, the element is DC grounded, and the build is rated for wind of 36.9 m/s across an operating range of −45 °C to +85 °C. It is the practical choice where the mast mount and the feed exit are just as important as the pattern.

Technical Excellence: The Core Advantage

The antenna's performance rests on three pillars: full-band coverage, a flange-side-feed mechanical design, and a 300 W build for real high-power links.

Full 5.15–5.85 GHz Coverage on a 400 mm Radome

Most 5 GHz omnis are tuned to one sub-band and lose efficiency at the edges. This module is specified across the full 5.15–5.85 GHz span, which takes in U-NII-1, U-NII-2, U-NII-2C, U-NII-3 and U-NII-4 in one part. Peak gain is 6.5–8 dBi, and the chamber measurements track it closely: 6.8–7.9 dBi across the band with efficiency between 63.9% and 81.4%. The vertical beamwidth is 11–15°, which is narrow enough to put energy on the horizon and wide enough to cover a rooftop or a courtyard from a single mount. The horizontal pattern is round, with measured roundness of 0.61 dB at 5150 MHz, 0.37 dB at 5500 MHz and 1.32 dB at 5850 MHz.

A Flange Mount and a Side-Exit N-Female Feed

The mechanical design is the part that matters on real roofs. The antenna stands on a 100 mm round flange with four Ø6.5 mounting holes, so it bolts directly onto a prepared roof, a wall plate or a pole adaptor instead of relying on a clamp. The connector exits sideways from the base rather than at the bottom, so the cable runs along the roof or wall instead of hanging under the antenna. Above the flange there is a spring relief section, which flexes under wind load and vibration instead of stressing the connector and the feedline. The connector is N-female, the threaded interface that survives years on a rooftop, and the element is DC grounded so static charge drains to the mast.

VSWR <2.0 and 300 W Handling Across the Band

The specified match is VSWR <2.0 across 5150–5850 MHz, and the stored trace marks 1.80 at 5150 MHz, 1.43 at 5500 MHz and 1.40 at 5850 MHz, with return loss of 10.9 dB, 15.1 dB and 15.6 dB at those points. That margin keeps a 5 GHz radio at its top modulation step even at the band edges. Maximum power is 300 W, which is the honest figure for a high-power radio, a bridge or an amplifier-fed link; it is not a small-cell part and should not be specified as one. Mechanical qualification is stated rather than assumed: a ≥200 N tensile test, a 1 m drop test, vibration from 10–55 Hz at 0.35 mm displacement and 50.0 m/s² over 30 sweep cycles, and voltage resistance of 1.5 kV insulation, 1.5 kV sheath and 0.5 kV insulation-to-sheath. The product is RoHS compliant.

Versatile Application Scenarios

The combination of full 5 GHz coverage, a bolted flange and 300 W handling makes this antenna useful on rooftops and poles where a clamp would not do.

Outdoor 5 GHz Wi-Fi and Hotspots

Outdoor access points and hotspots: one omni covers a courtyard, a parking lot or a marina without sector overlap, which is what a full 5 GHz band deployment actually needs.

Rooftop and building-edge installs: the 100 mm flange bolts to a prepared roof plate, and the side-exit feed keeps the cable run along the surface rather than hanging underneath.

WISP backhaul and point-to-multipoint: 300 W handling leaves real room for amplifiers or multi-carrier operation, which is what long 5 GHz links need.

Building-to-building links: a round pattern at the hub with directional units at the spokes is a simpler topology than point-to-point pairs at every node.

Pole, Roof and Temporary Installations

Street poles and light masts: the flange bolts to a pole adaptor or a wall plate, so installation does not need a fabricated bracket.

Temporary and event sites: the 0.71 kg weight and side-exit feed let the antenna be mounted and recovered quickly, which suits pop-up networks, construction sites and broadcast support.

Conclusion: The Future of Flange-Mounted 5 GHz Omnis

The 5150–5850 MHz 6.5–8 dBi Sea Grey Fiberglass Omni Antenna, KSANT-12128-A, is more than a passive component. It is the part that decides whether a 5 GHz rooftop installation is bolted properly or strapped on. By covering the whole 5.15–5.85 GHz span at 50 Ohm with VSWR <2.0, holding roundness to ±1 dB across a full 360°, and carrying 300 W on a 100 mm flange with a side-exit N-female feed and a spring relief, it gives planners a mount they can specify on drawings rather than improvise on site. The 400 mm radome in sea grey, 0.71 kg weight, −45 °C to +85 °C range and 36.9 m/s wind rating state its limits up front. For any 5 GHz deployment that needs a bolted, high-power omni on a roof or a pole, this antenna is the practical choice.
